Honestly, as completely pathetic as it sounds, I don’t like acknowledging my birthday for the sake of others. Instead of getting all excited and pumped for my birthday and expect anything from anyone, then be completely bummed out when people forget, I’d rather just not advertise it and accept the few, genuine birthday wishes I do get from people without my reminding them. That way, it saves the awkward “Ohh, hey, happy birthday… I totally knew and didn’t forget” from people because they think I just hate celebrating my birthday. It’s also quite interesting to see who actually contacts me at midnight. Funny how people I’d expect it from didn’t, and people I wouldn’t expect it from, did.
Yeaahh, eff birthdays.
